Just over a week ago, I bought myself a little present 😉

Isn’t it pretty? The new Canon 40mm f2.8 STM “pancake” is everything they say it is and more. Tack sharp at f2.8, almost silent focus and very small.

It’s about almost the size of the 50mm f1.8 but funnily it does weigh more due to it having a metal mount instead of a plastic.

I’m really looking forward to using this at my next newborn shoot as it has a closer focusing distance than the 50mm f1.8
